In this survey 15 people participated and expressed their opinion about the topic “Poverty and Education”.
The first question was intended to collect the ages of the participants. The Figure 1 shows that 46.7% of the interviewees are 19 years old. One the other hand, only 2 adults and one teenager participated in the survey.
The Figure 2 is related to the previous one, as it prompted for the level o f education. On the question above, most of the participants were 19 years old, so makes sense that the same percentage is attending university.
In Figure 3, the intention was to know which term the participants related most to poverty. 11 people agreed that lack of basic services means poverty. This response was the expected one, because the access to education fall into this category.
In the Figure 4 it can be observed that 15 out of 15 participants agreed that poverty and education are related factors. Besides, one of the interviewees made the following statement: “If you have enough education, you will understand why poverty exists” (Anonymous, 2019).
The Figure 5 shows that 73.3% of the interviewees think that children labor (40%) and the government (33.3%) are the main factors that limit the access to proper education.
In Figure 6, 80% of the interviewees said that the poverty in the country affect them, while the rest disagreed with that. One participant wrote: “We are all connected, so if there’s poverty in your society, then it won’t fully develop” (Anonymous, 2019).
In the Figure 7, 50% people agree that moving out of the country could change their situation, while the other 50% disagree.
